JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains a caseload consistent with state, and JBRC standards.
2. Provides within agency objectives policies and practices, individual, family, group and psych-educational counseling services.
3. Uses American Society of Addictions Medicine standards to determine appropriate level of care and focus of treatment based on severity of illness
4. Prepares and maintains accurate and up to date case records in accordance with agency standards, accreditation and funding source requirements.
5. Submits inter-agency reports in a timely fashion
6. Utilizes supervision and training as an opportunity for enhancing professional competence
7. Participates in the evaluations of the effectiveness of the program
8. Maintains confidentiality for all client information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
9. Performs other duties over and above the other counselors, including responsibilities that lead to timely 3rd party payments
10. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Director of Clinical Services or other management as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Is knowledgeable regarding issues related to those with addiction problems
2. Is familiar with approaches to teaching anger management
3. Is able to identify signs of mental health issues
4. Capable of identifying and ranking problems and the ability to identify the treatment methods and resources to be utilized based on individual client needs.
5. Ability to demonstrate responsiveness and flexibility as client's needs and priorities shift.
6. Capable of writing concise and thorough reports
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all client information in accordance with regulatory agencies.
8. Ability to formulate agreed upon immediate long-term goals using behavioral terms in the written treatment plan.
9. Capable of identifying the treatment methods and resources to be utilized as appropriate for the individual client.
10. Ability to apply techniques to assist the client, group and family in examining the client's behavior, attitudes and feelings if appropriate in the treatment setting.
11. Demonstrate the ability to interact with the client in an appropriate therapeutic manner.
12. Capable of coordinating services for client care.
13. Ability to recognize the elements of the client crisis and implement an immediate course of action appropriate to the crisis, while enhancing the overall treatment by utilizing crisis events.
14. Capable of presenting relevant alcohol and other drug use/abuse information to the client through formal and informal processes.
15. Ability to match client needs and/or problems to appropriate resources.
16. Capable of preparing reports and relevant records integrating available information to facilitate the continuum of care. Ability to chart pertinent ongoing information pertaining to the client, while utilizing relevant information from written documents for client care.
17. Ability to respect all cultures and ethnic differences

QUALIFICATIONS:
CADC, LCADC and/or LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC
Experience or training in Behavior Modification
